With today’s high home prices, rising interest rates, and added expenses, homeownership can feel out of reach for many young adults. It’s not surprising that the median home price is now five times the median income, leading more people to consider long-term renting or alternative investments. As someone who has spent over 20 years guiding clients through California’s real estate landscape, I’ve seen both the opportunities and trade-offs that come with renting versus owning. While renting can offer flexibility and fewer upfront costs, it’s important to consider the long-term benefits homeownership can provide, from building equity to having a place to truly call your own. My role is to help buyers, sellers, and investors weigh these choices with confidence, so they can make the decisions that best fit their goals and financial future.
